Collect pieces of light or wax orbs
Pieces of Light, also called Wax, are orbs that players can collect to forge Candles, one of the main currencies in Sky: Children of the Light. They are primarily collected by lighting red Candles or burning Darkness Plants found throughout the Realms. Blue orbs may appear when Darkness is burned near water or when spawned by water-specific light sources like clams or fish. Blue and red orbs are equivalent and functionally the same.
There are two types of Treasure Candles: permanent and daily. Each Treasure Candle will give the player 50 Pieces of Light. Permanent Treasure Candles exist in specific locations and do not change. Daily Treasure Candles appear in a different Realm every day, rotating between the Daylight Prairie, Hidden Forest, Valley of Triumph, Golden Wasteland, and Vault of Knowledge. The chosen Realm is indicated by two lit Red Candles outside the Realm's Archway Portal at Home and Aviary Village.
There are 32 Permanent Treasure Candles and 4 Daily Treasure Candles that can be collected daily. Permanent Treasure Candles can be found in the following locations: the left dune cave of Piggyback Lightseeker, the left dune cave of Pointing Candlemaker, the right dune cave containing a Child of Light, and the entrance of the Cave of Prophecies.
Daily Quests and Events are another way to collect Pieces of Light. Completing daily quests grants Seasonal Candles and extra wax. During the Geyser event, Darkness spiky balls erupt, providing plenty of Light for players to collect. The Grandma Grandma event, located in the Elevated Clearing of Hidden Forest, is another way to collect Light. Six white Light orbs appear on the table every minute, each granting 9 Pieces of Light when burned.
On the road to the point of no return, there are occasionally Pieces of Light scattered along the path where small red radiant shards are located. While flying, players receive 5 Pieces of Light for each Ancestor Spirit they fly into.

Light red candles and burn dark plants
In Sky: Children of the Light, players can collect orbs called Pieces of Light (also called Wax) to forge Candles, one of the game's main currencies. Pieces of Light can be obtained by lighting red candles or burning Darkness Plants. It is important to note that burning Darkness Plants and lighting red candles are not the only ways to obtain Candles. Players can also receive Candles as rewards for completing Daily Quests or by purchasing them from the in-game shop. The Grandma Spirit holds a timed event at the Ancestor's Table of Belonging in the Elevated Clearing of Hidden Forest. This event, called Grandma's Dinner, repeats every two hours and lasts for 15 minutes. It starts every half-past two hours after the reset time in your timezone. For example, if your reset time is 8:00, Grandma will serve you food at 0:35, 2:35, 4:35, and so on. The event lasts for approximately 10 minutes. During this event, you can collect around 500 pieces of wax, which count as social light.
The Polluted Geyser is a Social Light area added to the Sanctuary Islands during Days of Nature 2021 to raise awareness of ocean pollution. It is located at sea level between two caves. The geyser erupts Darkness spiky balls that give Pieces of Light when burned. The first eruption starts at reset (midnight for PST/PDT) and then repeats every two hours, lasting 15 minutes. The start is signified by a seashell in the centre of the Geyser floating up and unclogging it. During the first 5 minutes, steam blows out of the five vents around the geyser. Then, for the next 10 minutes, the geyser fills up and erupts Darkness spiky balls every minute. The Darkness spiky balls come in three sizes: small (5), medium (10), and large (15). Each eruption will give you around 300 wax, and you can collect up to a limit of 1000 wax.
